The Chevrolet Camaro is the third most recognizable nameplate in
American automotive history so when the Camaro was cancelled in
2002, the opportunity arose to create a new generation of Camaro.
The main objectives of the project were to create a fifth generation
Camaro (specifically the Z28 model) while considering the many
constraints that current automotive designers currently face. This
means designing a car that is production ready and not just an
unrealistic concept car. Such issues to be considered were the
vehicle dimensions, weight issues, material and mechanical
choices, cost issues, interior packaging, user relations, and the
most important: Camaro aesthetics.
